Banksy, My second experiment

David Bowie (Ziggy Stardust).

Banksy protest street artist

Banksy is a protest graffiti artist from Bristol, his work mainly focuses on political and social commentary usually found on places like train tunnels, bridges and city walls ect. He has been doing street art for 20 years yet his identity is still unknown but he is now the worlds most known Graffiti artist, some of his work selling for up to $1.87 million.

This Banksy image can be found on the side of The Thekla (an entertainment boat in central Bristol), The image of Death (otherwise known as the grim reaper) is based on a nineteenth-century etching illustrating the pestilence of The Great Stink as people thought it was connected to the outbreaks of Cholera, it is also the reason sewage systems were introduced in London in the 1860's.
What I like about the picture is the usage of death to illustrate the deaths cursed by the once   swage filled water.

In August 2004, Banksy produced a quantity of spoof British 10 pound notes substituting the picture of the Queen's head with Diana, Princess of Wales's head and changing the text "Bank of England" to Banksy of England". Some one threw a large wad of these into a crowd at Notting Hill Carnival that year, which some people tried to spend the notes in local shops. These notes have been sold for almost 200 pounds each. A limited run of ten uncut notes were also produced and sold by Pictures on Walls for 100 pounds each to commemorate the death of Princess Diana. In 2007, one of these was sold for 24000 pounds at Bonhams auction houses in London.
What I liked about this image was the name swap from "Bank of England" to "Banksy of England".

I tried to make protest graffiti Artwork like banksy in photoshop using an image of Michael Jackson.
I liked how the image of Michael turned out but would improve  the text to make it look more like graffiti and not just a photo shopped image.
